Brad Keithley's Bio:

Brad Keithley is a former business executive, lawyer and consultant with over 35 years experience working on oil, gas and fiscal issues. He now focuses most of his time on Alaskans for Sustainable Budgets, a grass roots effort to restore fiscal responsibility and stability to the Alaska government and economy. In addition to that effort, Keithley also is the Publisher of Thoughts on Alaska Oil & Gas, which includes an online publication of the same name serving as a one-stop shop of news and commentary on Alaska oil, gas and fiscal policy, and The Alaska Oil & Gas Daily, a twice daily summary of news related to the same subject. Keithley also appears weekly as a guest commentator on Alaska oil, gas & fiscal issues on AM700 KBYR‘s The Michael Dukes Show. In the past Keithley also wrote a column on oil, gas and fiscal issues for Alaska Business Monthly. In addition to those roles, Brad is a Board Member of the Institute of the North, regularly Co-Chairs Law Seminar International’s Annual Conference on Energy in Alaska, and served from 2013 – 2014 as a member of the Alaska House Sustainable Education Task Force. From 2013 to 2016, Keithley served as President of Keithley Consulting, LLC, a firm providing advice on Alaska oil, gas and fiscal policy issues. Prior to founding Keithley Consulting, Brad was a Partner and Co-Head of the Oil & Gas Practice at Perkins Coie, LLP in the firm’s Anchorage and Washington, D.C. offices (2008 – 2013). Before that he was a Partner with Jones Day, a global law firm, based in the firm’s Dallas office (1990-2008), Senior Vice President & General Counsel of Arkla, Inc., then the third-largest U.S. integrated natural gas company (and now a division of Centerpoint Energy), based in the company’s Little Rock, Arkansas and Shreveport, Louisiana offices (1984-1990), and a Partner (1981 – 1984) and Associate (1978 – 1981) with Hall, Estill, Hardwick, Gable, Collingsworth & Nelson, a prominent regional law firm, based in the firm’s Tulsa, Oklahoma office (1978-1984). Brad started his legal career as an Attorney-Advisor in the Office of the General Counsel, Secretary of the Air Force, based in The Pentagon (1976-1978). He served as a Captain in the United States Air Force during that period. Throughout his career, Brad has focused on oil, gas and fiscal issues, with concentration in the areas of oil & gas regulation, commercial transactions and fiscal policy. When practicing, his clients included major oil & gas companies, oil & gas pipelines, large and medium independents, as well as major consumers of natural gas. In recent years, Brad has focused primarily on matters related to Alaska oil & gas, international and U.S. LNG issues, matters related to oil & gas exploration, development and production on U.S. federal lands and waters and, over the past ten years, Alaska fiscal policy. Brad is a past co-chair of the Institute of Energy Law’s Annual Oil & Gas Law Conference and was a founding co-chair of the Institute’s Annual Law of LNG Conference.
